Absolute Kennels is a beautiful 5 acre property on the North Thompson river. We are the only CKC registered dog kennel within Kamloops’ city limits. Just 13 minutes from downtown Kamloops and 25 minutes from Sun Peaks.

Maureen Young is the owner and operator. She has over 35 years training, competing, travelling and boarding dogs. Through the years Maureen noticed some dogs do not thrive in a conventional kennel environment, and that is why she created Absolute Kennels.

3 Dog Kennel Options

A CONVENTIONAL KENNEL

Located in the basement of my home. Climate controlled. The inside pens are 4′ X 6′. They are private and offer a comfortable, secure and safe space where dogs eat, sleep and relax. The outside yards are 15′ X 20′. The yards have dog houses and a shelter for additional fun and frolic. In summer each yard is shaded and has its own pool.

THE GUEST HOUSE PROGRAM

Your dog joins Maureen in her home as a guest. The guests have free run in a totally dog friendly house. Maureen includes these dogs (depending on the needs of the dog) in all daily activities, adventure walks, garden time and playroom time as well as visits to the wash house and spa.

DOG DAY CARE

Maureen offers a day camp/care program where your dog has every opportunity to play and socialize all day long. Either in our playroom or outside with Maureen.

Maureen is a certified coach with over 40 years training dogs and owners. She has been beneficial to many owners/competitors and their dogs in Manitoba and BC. Specializing in Obedience, hunting, companion dog and competitve field trial animals.

The WASH HOUSE AND SPA offers a variety of services. Absolute Retriever Kennels has top of the line equipment. Offering a stairway entry into our tub. So no Dog is to BIG or SMALL. We can actually walk your dog into the tub if necessary.
